A Crumbled Rock

I crumbled a rock today.

A stone so easily crushed in my left hand. They say that should not happen. For a rock is too hard to merely crumble into tiny pieces while being squeezed in the palm of your hand.  They say rocks can be heavy, some weighing over a ton. Some can be slippery,  jagged and sharp, raising caution when in their presence.

But yet I crumbled a rock today. An obstacle that has been blocking my view, keeping me from moving forward. A barrier that gets too much credit for being what it is.

The heaviness lifted as the sandy particles slipped through my fingers. What once seemed like a boulder…so draining and demanding, took on a new shape and appearance. It became as light as a feather and it fell to the ground as dust.

Unmovable…unshakable…unbreakable had been it’s definition by what they say…they say…….they say.

No matter how the odds were stacked, it was in a still quiet moment that thunder echoed in my mind. The thunder of boldness…the thunder of courage …the thunder of His Spirit, not by my might or power.

In that still moment, time stood still. As the authority of His voice resounded three words that gained momentum as each were spoken…movable…shakeable…breakable!!

What they say is not always true…often times not…more times not.

I crumbled a rock today.  And my life changed for the better!

Hi, Welcome to my blog . I love my God, my family, music, hikes, Mexican food and coffee. I am passionate about worship and serving Christ. One of my favorite passages is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. “ Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for those who belong to Jesus Christ.” Life has taught me to know a lot but I am not a know it all. Realizing there is always more to learn and experience I continue my spiritual journey. I hope that Lingering In The Oasis will help make your day better, as you continue to travel your journey as well.
