Do not despise the small little things, for the Lord rejoices. Zechariah 4:10
Making a big impact in this world is on the mind of a large portion of the population these days. I worked in the professional business arena for many years and experienced this firsthand. I was surrounded by those who constantly sought to find a way to obtain more money, higher position, and more influence. You had to produce on-going big results in order to get noticed for such things.
Often times we see similar scenarios in many areas of our lives where big is interpreted as the only way to measure success and small is viewed as not noticeable or valued very little.
God has a different value system. He values the smallest of things. He wishes for us to place worth on those things that appear to be insignificant and minor because He views them as important and major.
Don’t be ridiculous! Saul replied. There’s no way you can fight this Philistine and possibly win! You’re only a boy, and he’s been a man of war since his youth.
1 Samuel 17:33
David, being the youngest of 8 sons and considered as only a boy, took on the giant, who was a skilled warrior in the most lopsided death match history has ever known. It only took one small pebble to bring the biggest enemy in the land crashing to the ground. Do not despise the small little things, for the Lord rejoices.
What battle are you facing that seems lopsided? How often do you feel insignificant at your job, with relationships, or with life in general? When will you be recognized for your loyalty and faithfulness?
God sees and God knows every detail.
God has a different value system
You can buy two sparrows for only a copper coin, yet not even one sparrow falls from its nest without the knowledge of Your Father. Aren’t you worth much more to God than many sparrows? So don’t worry. For your Father cares deeply about even the smallest detail of your life. Matt. 10:29-31
God is great not just because nothing is too big.
God is great because nothing is too small.
Mark Batterson
A small simple prayer carries more of a powerful and effective punch than the toughest heavyweight champion of the world can produce. Do not despise the small little things, for the Lord rejoices.
Nothing is too small for our God.
It matters…it carries meaning…He cares for you.
For your Father cares deeply about
even the smallest detail of your life.
The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches. Matthew 13:31-23
From the smallest to the largest in His eyes….Thank you Father.
Lingering Thoughts:
Make time to linger in Gods Presence as soon as you can. Begin to think about all of the things in your life that you have considered or been told to be small or insignificant areas. Allow the Holy Spirit to remind you of your weekly activities and/or relationships that you might have taken for granted.
Now begin giving thanks to God for everything that has come to your mind. Thank Him that He does not see any area in your life as being small. Ask Him to reveal to you specifically just how big each area really is. Give Him a shout of praise for the freedom He provides and your new revelation!
