Do You Need Anything?

How often do you forget to purchase something you need at the grocery store for the week? It doesn’t matter how many lists I make, typically something is left out. What can be a bit more frustrating is when I come home without an item that was clearly on the list that I overlooked….hello, my second home is the grocery store.

Wouldn’t it be nice to always have your frig and shelves stocked with everything you need and never have to shop again?

That might sound like a fantasy from a material stand point, but how about spiritually? Is it possible for you and me to already have everything we need to live a fulfilling Christian life?

Everything we could ever need for life and godliness has already been deposited in us by His divine power. For all this was lavished upon us through the rich experience of knowing Him who has called us by name and invited us to come to Him through a glorious manifestation of His goodness. 2 Peter‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭

Did we just read that correctly? Everything we could ever need has already been deposited in us?

Ok, so what about when I am weak and need strength…or when I am worried and need peace…or even if I am sick and need to be healed?

God’s Word speaks truth. I’m not creating this answer. His Word is declaring it.

We have already been given the strength, peace, and healing we need because Jesus came and died once and for all. He poured into us an endless supply of Himself the day we accepted Him as our Lord and Savior.

So why should I pray if I have everything I need? Yep, I said it because you are thinking it too.

Activation.

We need to activate what we have.

I’ve come to realize that I need to believe and accept that I have everything. Believing and accepting are two different things but fit together like puzzle pieces.

I can believe that God has the ability to give His people everything they need, but I also need to accept He has included me.

Once I have come to believe and accept, then I am able to activate what is in me. It’s sort of like wearing a tool belt that is loaded with all of the tools I need to get a job done. I must take hold of a specific tool and activate it or the tool will remain useless in my belt.

So maybe my prayers going forward should sound more like this…Lord, help me to activate what is already mine. God, I activate Your strength, peace, and healing today. I believe and accept Your Word for my life that says….He gives strength to the weary….My peace I give you….and by My stripes you are healed. Thank you for all of Your promises that dwell in me through Your Holy Spirit.

That’s a great feeling to know that His resources are already in me. They’re already in you too.

We are not without.

God’s grace has provided you and me a magnificent everlasting out pouring of His goodness. Wow!

Everything we could ever need for this life.

All of it lavished upon us.

Simply by the rich experience of knowing Him.

Because He speaks our name and claims us as His own.

Hi, Welcome to my blog . I love my God, my family, music, hikes, Mexican food and coffee. I am passionate about worship and serving Christ. One of my favorite passages is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. “ Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for those who belong to Jesus Christ.” Life has taught me to know a lot but I am not a know it all. Realizing there is always more to learn and experience I continue my spiritual journey. I hope that Lingering In The Oasis will help make your day better, as you continue to travel your journey as well.
