To desire to stay or linger in a place typically means that it’s inviting and pleasant. Isn’t that what we all long for? In order to find such a place requires some work on our part to maintain it.
An oasis is a place that is inviting. It usually consist of land, water and plant life. The origin of the word oasis means “dwelling place”. Sounds great right?
If you’ve ever done any gardening then you’ve experienced the excitement of envisioning the outcome of your work. Fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers are the end results of your planting efforts. To reach that objective, it took some participation on your part to make it happen.
A natural oasis does need nurturing of the land and water to keep life returning again and again. To stay in a place spiritually, which will dictate every part of you and who you seek to be, will require some nurturing on your part. Welcome to Lingering in the Oasis!
This website is designed to bring you inspiring devotionals and encouraging words that are centered upon God’s Word. Come stay awhile and be refreshed. I hope you find your time here rewarding and you return often.
