“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him!” Psalm 34:8
I love fresh fruit in the morning. It’s become a routine for me to get up each day, slice up several juicy picks from unknown gardens purchased at the market and drizzle with a bit of honey to join my breakfast selection.
As special, unique, and delicious each fruit can be by itself, when brought together they create so much more. The combination of flavor is so tasty and the colors make for a beautiful sight to see (not to mention healthy too).
You know, God intends for us to consume some other fruits that are similar and healthy as well.
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”
Galatians 5:22-23
Each kind of fruit mentioned here taste good when digested by itself. In other words, when I choose to take a bite of peace, I am choosing a spiritual fruit that has a lot of flavor, color and is very healthy for my body, mind, and spirit.
When I take my spiritual bowl each morning and begin to slice up some love, faithfulness, and patience look out! When I choose to add some kindness, joy, and gentleness to the mixture, the colors start popping! Now to top it off with some peace, goodness, and self control drizzled with the Holy Spirit and I have the healthiest meal choice of the day!
This bowl of fruit is so vital for me and the nutrients never end nor can I eat too much of it.
“There’s no law against such things” another translation says it this way…“Never set the law above these qualities, for they are meant to be limitless.”
Galatians 5:23b
This fruit is of high quality and where it grows there is a limitless supply, wow!
The Holy Spirit produces fruit that will never give me too much sugar or cause heartburn. This fruit tastes amazing and I will see the benefits of it in my personal life. Others will notice my spiritual food choice by the lifestyle it creates in me.
“The good people taste Your goodness, The whole people taste Your health, The true people taste Your truth.”
Psalm 18:25
Would you like to join the taste test and see for yourself? I can assure you, the Holy Spirit’s fruit is really that good!
Lingering Thoughts For You:
- Seek the fruit of the Holy Spirit to add more color and purpose to who you are and who you seek to be.
- Our refuge remains in Him when we practice daily eating fruit from God’s heavenly table that provides an endless supply.
- Join me in prayer…..”God, I desire to feast from Your table that offers an abundance of fruit that brings great value to me. May I taste and see that You are good. In Jesus name, Amen!”
