THIS DAY IS UNREAL!
Saying a phrase such as this one can come with a bit of a punch. Perhaps even with some frustration or anger. Days that seem to be filled with mounds of stress and complications appear to be unreal. Yet, we can express it with a real….you’ve got to be kidding me…kind of attitude.
Could we receive a reply from our outward cries? Is it possible to find some positive meaning hidden away in an unreal day?
The answer is yes.
You see, this day truly can be unreal in comparison to what most people think of the real world being as. Unreal can be a good expression of something beyond what we think is typical, average, or perhaps even normal.
And we find the depth of a true day’s potential in the simplicity of words written by David that makes a day quite unreal…
This is the day that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24
You and I get to be glad that He has created a day continuously with its explosive purpose for us to rejoice in. He desires that we enjoy every day that is given to us. None are a waste. Every day is special.
Each one has been made for you and me.
I will be glad
The author David knew all about what could be carried within a day. Many of his days carried the weight of just trying to survive…surrounded by an enemy who wanted him dead. Life struggles and heartache were apart of his existence.
Our days are challenging. Many hit us hard…pounding us to our core and causing us to bend and bow. Sometimes we even break. Some days are filled with loss. Some seem unbearable. How can we even think about rejoicing when we feel miserable?
But God
God knows all about those kind of days. He never said those days would not show up. And yet, it still does not change the fact that He allows each day to begin with the sun rising in the east and shimmering across the waters of the earth. A day filled with a fresh 24 hrs that’s oozing with opportunities and greatness.
I will rejoice
A day that appears like another, but yet full of a brand new layer of His glorious presence that’s drawing us into more of His glory.
A day He designed especially for you and me to enjoy no matter what the circumstance. Let us rejoice simply because He is in the day….right by our side. The King of the Universe and our Creator has made something with us in mind that is meant to bring a smile to our face even in the midst of everything else. A magnificent habitat for our lives to live in.
