Untangling My Thoughts

Scattered brain…
it’s an easy state of mind to get caught up in.

I’m not sure if the more you have on your plate creates the scatteredness or if the less you have to think about makes your mind wander endlessly.  I believe I can truly say that I’ve experienced both sides of the coin.

How about you?  Do the multiple activities of your day create mind blowing chaos at times?  Sure they do. So many things to remember. I used to place sticky notes everywhere as my reminders. It’s amazing how a phone calendar can become your best friend.

Sometimes our thoughts might feel damned up. Like there’s too much muck and debris blocking the way from making a logical decision. You know, when we need to take time to think and don’t have the time to do it. Our brains hurt from the tension it creates. A tangled mess of notions and ideas can steal our rest, sleep, and peace. Can anyone raise their hand and say…hey, that sounds like me?

Do you know one of the best remedies to help untangle your thoughts and bring a steady flow of clarity?

Be still….it’s not something we find ourselves probably doing enough of. It might even be difficult when we do seek to rest. Our minds have a way of continuing to be active when we prefer to stop. The key to being still is what you do while activating the stillness.

Know that I am God….doesn’t indicate you didn’t know who He was previously. To know is to acknowledge…accept…be reminded of.

Sometimes we need to be still in order to properly move again.

Slowing down is required at times. Gear down…pause…and even stop to allow the current to clear and move freely.

Sometimes we need to rewind to remind.

Rewind ourselves to the memories of who He has been. Be reminded that He is God.  While pausing in your hectic schedule, expand your thoughts to meditate on His Word and to think about His goodness. Creating an opportunity for your focus to be centered on His presence can provide remarkable results.

To be still and know that He is your God can create a power surge that will unblock your tangled webbed mind and allow your thoughts to become more organized. It can remove uncertainties and bring clarity. It tears down doubt and gives confidence. It replaces complications with simplicity. It destroys anxiety and delivers rest and peace.

We know that You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. We know that You are our Way Maker.

Join me in being still for a moment.

God, we lift our hands in reverence to You. As we silently pause, we direct our thinking towards You. We think about Your faithfulness, provision, and protection. We focus our attention on Your unfailing love for us. We are reminded of the sacrifice You freely made for us. We worship and adore You, our Lord and Savior. Thank you for gathering our thoughts and removing the things that need to move along so we can think clearer. Thank you for the rest and peace of mind that is coming our way. We love you Jesus, Amen.

Hi, Welcome to my blog . I love my God, my family, music, hikes, Mexican food and coffee. I am passionate about worship and serving Christ. One of my favorite passages is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. “ Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for those who belong to Jesus Christ.” Life has taught me to know a lot but I am not a know it all. Realizing there is always more to learn and experience I continue my spiritual journey. I hope that Lingering In The Oasis will help make your day better, as you continue to travel your journey as well.
