Way, Wilderness, and Wasteland

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun? Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
Isaiah 43:19

A favorite past time for Annette and myself is hiking. We discovered a love for nature that we had previously taken for granted. The wonders of His creation that are experienced while tapping into His Presence is priceless.

We’ve traveled narrow trails where the route was not clearly marked to slippery rock formations that caused us to move in a direction that we did not prefer….back, downward, and sometimes uncontrollably.

We’ve explored how the pathways change under different weather conditions…rain, wind, snow, mud, and dusty dry. We could work for the US Postal Service!

We’ve find out that markers can influence the outcome of your journey. These markers give you guidance…where to step…where not to step…which direction to keep heading in…how much further. You grow to appreciate the way that gets you to your destination.

Markers can influence the

outcome of your journey.

Over the years, I’m marveled to uncover more layers of God’s spiritual markers. Isn’t that what we should expect to find? As we continue to grow and mature in age and spirit, seasons of life embrace us… whether we ask for it to or not. We mature in knowing He is our source of direction. We grow to appreciate His way that gets us to our destination.

God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection.
2 Samuel 22:31

How many wildernesses and wastelands have you found it hard to travel through? Can we even count the number of wilder than in expected circumstances we’ve found ourselves a part of? Who knows how many wasted situations we’ve landed in? Why did it happen and why do they remain? We question which direction to go. How much longer until I find a marker Lord?

The chorus lyrics of a song I wrote several years ago resonates His Word with the answer…

“Your way, Oh God. Your way is perfect. You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life none other will do. Your way, Oh God. Your way is perfect. I come before Your throne to worship You.” Your Way – JS

Come to rest in knowing that throughout history, God has a good plan for you and me. Every wilderness & wasteland, whether it was meant to have been experienced or brought about by an unfortunate encounter, has been marked by a loving Father.

We grow to appreciate His way

that gets us to our destination.

He is constantly removing the debris that clutters our passage. His ever flowing rivers of living water quenches our parched souls. He is doing something new in us.

He stretches our faith muscles and causes us to grow in the strangest way….yet in His perfect way. No condition can block or hold up our arrival.

The Lord will always show you where to go and what to do, filling you with refreshment when you are dry and in a difficult place. He will continually restore strength to you. You will flourish like a well-watered garden, and be like an ever-flowing, trustworthy spring of blessing.
Isaiah 58:11

Plan to continue your journey, with high expectations, knowing that your God is making a way just for you!

Your way is perfect, Oh God.

Hi, Welcome to my blog . I love my God, my family, music, hikes, Mexican food and coffee. I am passionate about worship and serving Christ. One of my favorite passages is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. “ Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for those who belong to Jesus Christ.” Life has taught me to know a lot but I am not a know it all. Realizing there is always more to learn and experience I continue my spiritual journey. I hope that Lingering In The Oasis will help make your day better, as you continue to travel your journey as well.
