We Need More Watershed Moments

Can you think of a time when a pivotal change took place in your life? You know, those times you can recall that made an impact to your existence. A landmark that added value to yourself. We all have had them. Part of our history has been created by such moments. Like aged wooden structures, many have stories they could tell. Stories that are easy to look back upon because of the significance they played in making us who we are. Watershed moments…turning points in our lives.

Some turning points arrive from when we did something wrong and had to face the consequence of our actions. What better way to learn how to do something right than to have done it wrong. I’ve had many of those. I bet you have too.
Perhaps the moment to make a turn in the right direction came from having been embarrassed. You know, not wanting to go through that same feeling again that kicks in your…”ok, I’ll really apply myself this time in saying & doing the correct thing” response.

Then there are those turning point incidents when we have done something bad. You can define your own. Maybe it was disobedience…perhaps it involved misfortune or hurt. All of our disobedient incidents most likely can be summed up as being called sin.

Our sin should bring us to life changing moments. Those occurrences should mark a watershed in us. With the help of the Holy Spirit, these occurrences can change us when we repent and turn from the disobedience.

The Holy Spirit directs us beyond what we ourselves are capable of doing. He guides us into creating beautiful watershed responses without having to go through any sin.

Following His lead makes us know when to make a turning point in life before any negative thought, word, or action occurs.

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. Galatians 5:16

Wow!…. It can happen everyday…in everything we do. Turning points are made simply by making the right decision in our circumstances.  By allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us, we are being instructed to turn from a wrong…incorrect…misguided…evil…hurtful…ugly point of decision to making a wonderful life changing moment that has been inspired and confirmed by God Himself.

We are free to live, not according to our flesh, but by the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit! Romans 8:4

Just think about the greater impact we all can make in our lives and the lives of others when we turn from an incorrect thought, word, or action and go in the right direction…with the right thought…the right word…and the right action.

I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.  I will advise you and watch over you.  Psalm 32:8

You and I can make this world a better place by having more watershed moments.

My desire to create more correct turns can happen, by becoming closer to the One who turns towards me……..towards us.

Become intimate with Him in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go. Proverbs 3:6

He never turns away.

He’s always drawing me towards Him.
Never demanding….always inviting.

Thank you Holy Spirit for guiding my life.
